My guess is that the cases approved between 6/15 to 6/30 would be bundled and sent to NVC around 7/10. We should have good news next week - patience and positive approach are virtues.

mine was like that. They recieved my case and the next day i recieved another email stating that i already have my case number ...

mine was like that. They recieved my case and the next day i recieved another email stating that i already have my case number ...

Youll have it soon !!! try calling them back if u havnt. Maybe the CSR will be able to provide some info bout it....

Are you talking about Chennai Consulate! Someone said it is second week end for Mumbai and third week end for Chennai. I hope they are right :whistle: .

I don't know what is passport clearance certificate and I don't have it yet .. what is it ?

The Visa application of the foreign spouse (DS-230) needs to be sent with a Police Clearance Certificate from all the places he/she lived for 6 months (in local country) and 1 year (abroad) after attaining the age of 16 years. This matches with the information to be entered in DS-230 Item 30.

In some countries (sometimes in some parts within a country) the Passport Office do not give Police Clearance until you produce the interview letter. In such cases, you can attach a letter with your DS-230 stating that you will produce the Police Clearance Certificate/s at the time of interview and NVC accepts such requests.

If the applicants passport is 6 months old from issue date the appicant needs to get a Pasport clearance certificate from passport office.

I was hoping for Case complete by 8/11 but it will have to be next week. My AOS just got entered into the system (IV was done & ok) - will call NVC on Monday and inquire regarding September interview posibility. I really hope 20th is the cut off for Chennai (somewhere I read).

I dont know what NVC doing these days..i got email from them its says we received your file on Aug 8th.

but i call them everyday operators tell me tht we received your file on Aug 1st.

which case received in NVC on Aug 1st everyone waiting for it. so i hope all of us can get our next week.
