I think most people stay at El Hotel de Los Jardines (i think that is what it is called). From what I have heard it is right around the corner and the cheapest place around. Look at the reviews for the embassy in DR, I believe alot of VJers mention it in there.

9.5.2014 Received Text/Email that EAD card has been mailed (Day 72 (Day 67 from PD))

9.8.2014 EAD Card received!! (Day 75 (Day 70 from PD))

9.12.2014 Applied for SSN (Day 79 (Day 74 from PD))

9.18.2014 Received SSN (Day 85 (Day 80 from PD))

10.08.2014 Received Interview Date for Nov 14th!! (Day 105 (Day 100 from PD))

11.14.2014 Interview Date!!! (Day 142 (Day 137 from PD))

Yes I've read plenty of interview experiences and it looks like most people stay there, and they always say something very nice about it. Especially that it is super close to the embassy.

06/01/2012 - Welcome letter arrived (Received about 3 of these)
06/05/2012 - Green card arrived
06/15/2012- Back to SS office with green card to reapply and inquire about delay
06/18/2012 - Picked up SSN at SSA office
06/22/2012 - SS card arrived by mail

04/24/14 - Sent I-751 to remove conditions

06/09/14 - Biometrics

11/2014 - RFE from USCIS requesting more evidence before approval

Late Jan - Sent further evidence of marriage

03/05/2015 - Got letter of approval for removal of conditions

03/15/2015 - Permanent 10 yr green card received via mail

That's probably your best bet. Its $60 a night and its right around the corner from the Embassy. I've only heard good things about it.

Jardines del teatro...my husband and i stayed there when we had our interview. it's around the block from the embassy, the rooms are inexpensive, you can have a room with a kitchen and the supermarket is 2 or 3 blocks away...everything is within walking distance....
