We received a strange wonderful surprise yesterday, it was the EAD card. We are happy but I am surprised, because last Monday was our bio metrical, I though the EAD would be 2 or 3 weeks down the road? Also there was no text or email about approval or "card in production" it just arrived in the mail box unannounced, weird!

So today we will attempt to talk the Oregon DMV into issuing Jen a drivers permit. On our last visit to DMV they pointed out that her I-94 would expire so they refused to issue the permit. After putting on my "angry eyes" and explaining to the DMV employee (and her supervisor) :bonk: why they were obligated to issue the permit for at least the duration of the I-94 they at last gave Jen a hand written 90 day temporary. I suspect they will again be asses and we will have to wait for the green card to arrive. I will of course pack my "angry eyes" and report back how it goes... How has your guys DMV experience been?

Ours was pretty straight forward. They did have to go consult their handbook and we did have to take the nOA for I-485 with us because I had a feeling they would be looking for the green card instead of EAD. In the end we ended up with a 1-year temporary (length of EAD). I'm assuming we'll have to go back in a year to renew? But all in all, wasn't too bad here in Florida

My older brother has been going through the K-1 visa journey so I have been helping him. He is a member of VJ but he doesn't have a family like the December filers to turn to for help. In helping out I have returned to reading our original decemberite thread and have to say it was pretty amazing, like a ride down memory lane reading that stuff! Almost all of the help I received came through our group. So I want to say again, thank you all!

Hello all we are still waiting for an interview date. We are hoping the transfer to CSC means no interview. Any one still waiting on getting out of initial review?

We received our interview letter last Friday, the interview is May 14th at the Portland office. So no transfer for us. I was looking at the list of "what to bring" good grief! The same stuff we submitted with the K-1 and AOS, how many times do they need the same info? I have a great idea though, imagine if the USCIS had computers? It would be so cool, they could enter the data in the first time and they would already have it. :bonk:

Sorry, in truth I am just glad my wife is here and we are together, I will never forget waiting for that NOA #2 for the I-129 that was crazy.

Oh, I did forget the funny part of the "what to bring" list for the AOS interview, "me" she has to bring me to the interview, wow, for the first time, I am involved!!

You're blessed to have the interview! The Transfer to CSC folks have been waiting months. Poor CSC must be backed up with all kinds of jazz. And so...we wait. Be thankful for that interview!!! :)

I am also still waiting for my greencard. My case was transferred to CSC on Nov 21/11.

I called April 10th, even though it has not been 180 days, and was told that I 'should' hear something soon.

I also noticed that St. Paul MN are booking interviews for Sept. filers...

So, as it was with the K1 journey, I sit and wait lol...more practice in being patient!

"Good things come to those who wait"

Have a great day everyone,

Lise

Wow, what a nightmare! Is there any way you can get records from the clinic that provided the vaccinations? I am so sorry to hear this story, I personally have little confidence in the USCIS and there process. In any case, I wish you guys better luck from here on out, godspeed...

Congrats on the date :) We have a friend in Texas who had her interview on Monday. She said they asked her 2 questions: Is your name really ____? and Is this your correct address? She received her Green Card in the mail the NEXT DAY!! We can only hope to be so lucky lol. Also the green card is valid for 19 months as opposed to the 2 year.
