Kudos to the people who immigrate from overseas! I am a hop skip and a jump away from my homeland, which really is not a whole lot different than here, and think this was a very difficult process.

I was one of the lucky ones, I was able to transfer my Ontario license to MN. I only had to complete the written test. I am sorry to hear your wife has to wait for her EAD, did she provide them with her NOA for AOS?

Walking the country roads with my dog is very therapeutic for me, for some reason I cannot convince Michael to join me Bobby, it sure sounds like your wife is determined to adjust to her new life in the USA. You found a treasure in your wife, take good care of her! I can always send some good baking recipes for her to try! I chuckled at your comment about weight gain, I wonder how many American men have gained weight since the arrival of their wives???

Congrats Diz and Loxy on the blessing of a baby. I was wondering who from our group would be first lol. Hope everyone enjoyed their first Thanksgiving together and ate enough to have strength for this AOS process. Good morning and happy Cyber Monday!!

Very glad you're able to transfer your driver license. You know, we didn't think to show the PSD her AOS NOA since they issued her state ID according to her passport and I-94. Her state ID expires the same day as her I-94, which is this coming Saturday Hopefully we'll get an update for her EAD soon.

Comparing myself to Michael, the one thing my wife has going for her is my company's health incentive plan where if I wore a pedometer and accumulate X steps per month, then I get a big discount for my health insurance premium. So I go walk with my wife after dinner everyday. When it rains, we walk in the house from room to room My company implemented this plan for 3 or 4 years now, and I've been doing it that long, but it still wasn't good enough to prevent my weight gain over the past 2+ months. Both my wife and I gained weight since she arrived Now that thanksgiving is over, she wants to lose some weight

Just thought I'd pop in to let you all know we will be begining our AOS journey shortly. It's been a crazy roller coaster but I'm excited. Can't to see all the approvals

Assuming I don't find that I'm missing something when we go to put it together, our AOS packet will be going in the mail tomorrow! I'll be glad to have it out of the way since I have so much else on my mind right now - finishing my semester of school, keeping up with cooking and housework, taking care of our new little roommate (hehe, ours is just a puppy! No babies for us for a long time!), preparing for Christmas and getting gifts ready to mail back to Canada... ahh!

About an hour ago I was overjoyed to receive 2 text messages and 2 emails from USCIS!!

My wife's I-131 (AP) was approved and her I-765 (EAD) is in production today (November 30th, 2011), 64 days from the day we mailed her applications!!

She's happy that soon she'll be able to take her written test for her driving learner's permit.

I am so happy that things are coming along for you! Sounds like you are keeping busy! I am also preparing packages to mail to Canada. It is a pain! I have found out that when a package is over 4lbs the rates go up, a lot! Also there is the 50 or 60 dollar limit per gift unless you want the recipent to pay duty. I have 3 grandchildren in one household, will have to send 3 separate packages I need to rethink how I am going to send things to them in the future, or get shares in USPC! Good luck with your AOS!

We got our NOA1 (just for the application, not for EAD or AP, strangely enough) earlier this week via text, so I guess it's just a waiting game. Again.

I'm bummed because his I-90 expires December 15th, and with it, his driver's license. Bummer! We'll see if a NOA works for extending his license time.

OH NO!

We sent off our AOS packet on friday, and then later that night I realized I forgot to include our marriage certificate! D'OH HOW STUPID OF ME. What can I do? Can I send it on monday with all my information so it will be added to the packet, or will I have to wait for the RFE to come?
