Well, I still never received an email notifying me of my NOAs...the hard copy was good to get.

However, I did receive an email today from USCIS...the dreaded RFE. I am not going to stress about

it because I have kept absolutely everything from the get go. I will wait for the letter and do

what I have to do. At least I am here with Michael!

Damn! That sucks. Well, at least they're going through your papers. Usually you get your EAD/AP approved a couple weeks after sending in your RFE. I'm just worried cause I haven't heard anything ever since I received my NOA1 (aside from the biometrics appointment). Keep us updated on your RFE. I'm hoping it's nothing that big. Good luck!

Okay guys big problem - I've lost my passport with my visa in it. We've been through the house and car multiple times, top to bottom, called the family we stayed with and the hotel we stayed at and it isn't turning up anywhere.

You cannot call the montreal consulate where I got my visa. What do I do?!?!

Reading this made me so nervous for you. I'm so glad you found it! Can't imagine the feeling.

Hi lovely peoples!

I don't understand what I put for...

Items #10, #15, and #16 on the I-765 Application for Employment Authorization.

Has anyone filled that form out yet??

Thanks for the help :)

Tara

Hi Tara,

I do not dare answer you because I got the dreaded RFE, still have not received the hard copy so do not know what for. I did go to the Social Security office, a nice 90 mile ride. I stood and watched as she keyed in information, as short while later a paper came out of the printer...telling me to expect my SS card within 2 weeks...but it is in my maiden name. I questioned her and she said the name had to be what was on my I-94, no matter that I had my marriage license with me. I will have to go back with my greencard if I choose to change the name. Good grief!

Next task, surrender my Canadian driver's license...at least attempt to get a MN license!

FYI, in the USA, our lights don't flash green so you can turn left. You either get an arrow or if there is no sign indicating otherwise, you can turn left when it's green.

I sat through two flashing green lights in Canada before all the honking helped me figure out what it meant

Also...you can't drive 120 here! Our odometers are in MPH, not KMH

LOL Becs!

I drove in Adana and sitting at a stop the light is red... turns yellow (BEEEEEEEEEEP from ALL CARS BEHIND ME not even a full second after that yellow light!) ... and green and if you have not started moving, the car or bus behind you will move you!

Ky forgot the Mari Rule too! When we are in the car, he does not get to direct me AS IF he is the driver! "Wha's the matta your eyes! No see big hole ... Hala hala... yaaaaaah" LOL that's what he said! The thing is I was driving on a pitch black farming road out in nowhere! NO I CANNOT SEE! And then it was my turn.... *you know he got spanked right? lol

Lise: Bummer on the RFE but sheesh now you're a VJ seasoned woman! I think had we gotten it in the very beginning I would have flipped out for lack of understanding that RFEs can be handled and the VJ goes onward. Good thing you're calm. Heck, you're always calm! LOL

Christine! I hope by the time you read this you have already found your Passport and Visa! Trust me, I know the feeling. My passport was lost few days before I left out to Turkey. Nerve racking. Good luck Sweetie!

Tara

Tara,

I'll try to answer your question with what I know.

Item #10: we used my wife's A number found in her K-1 NOA2 just above her name in the BENEFICIARY box. It starts with an 'A' then followed by 9 digits, for instance "A123 456 789"

Item #15: K-1 (according to VJ guide)

Item #16: (C ) (9 ) ( ) [according to VJ guide]

I hope this is correct. We received her NOA's for I-485, I-765, and I-131 after receiving her biometrics appointment letter. Not sure if that means they accepted everything we sent them or not. But we're going to her biometrics appointment next Tuesday and taking this process one step at a time.

Hope that helps :)

Bobby

On the I-765 form: I am assuming that item #14 then is also K-1? It asks Manner of Last Entry (Visitor, student, etc.); I just put K-1. Hope that's the same as the VJ guide :)

Thanks again!

Hi Tara, first in MN you have 60 days to change over your license, I had to do a written test...I passed! There is however the staff were not sure how the DMV will look at my I94 status...she said they may request more proof that I will be staying in the USA...I gave them a copy of my I-797..see what happens. She said if I do not get the license within a month to come back to see her. But what has me hopping mad is my RFE...which says "You submitted form 1-693, Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. However, the civil surgeon certified the exam more than one year before the date the applicant filed the Form I-485." Not wanting to swear on this message board...use your imagination....my medical was completed Aug 2, 2011, they processed my I-485 Oct 4, 2011. Somehow that does not add up to one year for me! So....I got to drive 90 miles each way yesterday to get a SSN, and Monday I get to drive 90 miles each way for a friggen INFO appointment. Good thing I keep everything related to USCIS!

I am very cranky now!

Lise,

Sorry to hear that!!

Could it be your Civil Surgeon signed the I-693 with the wrong date? Did he give you a copy of the I-693 along with the sealed envelop? If so, you can take a look to see if that's the case. If it's the CS's fault, perhaps you can call the CS's office and have them prepare a new seal envelop with the new/corrected I-693.
