On may 5th, we had our interview at the USCIS office. Everything went well, we were asked a bunch of questions, showed pics etc.

There were two officers interviewing us and they even comment amongst themselves, in front of us, that we were a 'legitamate married couple'. Now, the 'main' officer said that he just had to 'check the securities' and that a decision would get to us via mail. My attorney, from a respected imm. Law firm, assured me that the case will be approved and that we should celebrate. The officer also made a comment to the other officer saying that he knew my attorney (not personally, but professionally).

I'm just wondering, does anyone know exactly what this means? How long it will take? Or if I should be worried that the case has not been update online from 'request for interview'?

If this has happened to anyone please help! I have a job lined up but ca only get an offer once I am a resident, hence why i am nervous! Thanks!!

Hi there,

I wouldn't worry because if they needed something from you they would tell you at the interview. It sounds to me based on what you are saying that they have to still receive the background check on you when they talk about "checking the securities" or maybe there was some evidence that you submitted that they want to follow up. I am sure if they said you both seem like a legitimate couple that everything is fine. Try to trust that everything will be okay even though it is hard and that if they need something from you to further things along they will let you know. I just recently had my AOS interview and got my Greencard approved and realized I worried way too much in hindsight and was always thinking the worst. I am sure it will be fine. Hope this helps. Good luck!

The "securities" check made me wonder if they were checking the security cameras from when they were waiting for the interview... I wonder...
