Hey all, I was just wondering what sorts of things they check for in the medical exam. I have ulcerative colitis and although it's very much under control with medication, I was wondering if it would have any impact on my K1 petition?

They ask you to disclose any chronic disease or illness and the medication you take (take the prescriptions with you or your pill bottle with your pharmacists info on it). I highly doubt this specific condition would impact your application. It would be a good idea to ask your doctor to write a note on your behalf saying your condition is treated and under control.

They mostly care for infectious and/or untreated diseases.

The doctor will make a 5 minutes appointment with you, have you file a health check form, take a chest x-ray, take a blood sample and check your immunization records. If you need any shots, they can provide it for you.

Questions regarding a specific consulate or questions regarding the consular process are best posted in the consulate forum, moving this thread

YMMV
