Hello guys,

I'm newbie here but I wasn't a newbie over K1 visa journey.

For a long 5 month of visajourney, we approved on sept. 5. finally!!

Our file was classified so called "March petition" lol but anyways,

What my questions are

after approval Email,

1. when my baby will get the real approval mail in hands? and then,

2. how long does it take to get it from USA to s. Korea?

3. after I get the visa in Korea, when i will be able to get a visa interview?

so if i get busy for the visa after approval, how long approximately does it take time to get my real visa!!

i can't wait to see my husband to be...... T^T

Cheers all of you guys!

Too answer questions.

1. when my baby will get the real approval mail in hands?

A few days later in the mail is called second Notice of Action has your ailen number on it and tells that is moving to the National Visa Center.

2. how long does it take to get it from USA to s. Korea

For this one I recommend looking at the timelines here on VJ, just filter them for the consulate that you specified.

3. after I get the visa in Korea, when i will be able to get a visa interview

You get the visa after interview, The consulate will send you a package with forms and instructions, after you follow the steps stated in the package and send it back then they will schedule you for an interview. Again look at the timelines to get an idea how long this takes.

I recommend reading the guides here.

if i get busy for the visa after approval, how long approximately does it take time to get my real visa!

It varies by consulate, some have you come back later in the day, others will mail you the package a few days later, the package will have your Passport with Visa in it and a large envelope with "DO NOT OPEN" stamped on it, DO NOT OPEN IT!

Good luck

I agree with YuAndDan. Try using the filters in the 'Immigration Timelines' on the website. Filter by beneficiaries in Sth Korea. Each embassy is different. I am anticipating about 3-4 months from petition approval to visa (Australia). Some embassies in other countries appear to be much quicker.

Good luck. And congratulations - you have made it through the hardest part :)

First of all: Congrats!

1. The NOA2 will be mailed to US citizen just like NOA1 roughly few days to a week after online approval.

2. Each county is different on that timeline. As most people suggested, you might want to check out the timeline to give yourself a rough guaidance.

3. If you mean after you get the package3, when will you be able to get the interview... again, every county has its own timeline and schedual.

KRforever,

1. Roughly a week, maybe 2 weeks.

2. Roughly a month, maybe in the range of 3-5 weeks.

3. After you submit your application materials that the consulate sends to you, see the timelines that other responders have referenced.

Congrats on your approval after waiting so long!

While you are enjoying your approval - why not fill out your timeline and help us all out. It helps keep the processing information available to us on the VJ site, as up to date as possible.

Thanks
