Certified Copies?

I want to make sure I have all the documents I need before my package 3 comes so I can send it back ASAP. I have a couple of questions…

I already have the long form birth certificate with parent’s information, will this do or do I have to order the certified copy?

The custody agreement for my children do I need a certified copy? Or will the copy with the court stamp do?

Does the permission letter from my children’s father have to be notarized? Or can I just get him to include a copy of his ID?

If anyone has answers to any or all of my questions I would greatly appreciate it :)

Thanks

I found the answer to a couple of my questions. I thought I would post it on here for anyone else asking the same question.

The custody agreement for my children do I need a certified copy? Or will the copy with the court stamp do?

Does the permission letter from my children’s father have to be notarized? Or can I just get him to include a copy of his ID?

Here's what I found...

To prevent international child custody disputes, in cases where a divorced parent wishes to have his minor child immigrate to the United States, U.S. diplomatic offices in Canada will request original or court-certified copies of court orders regarding child custody arrangements. Such documents should specify that the parent has “sole custody” of the child. If a divorced parent does not have court-granted sole custody, U.S. diplomatic offices in Canada will request written, notarized consent to the child’s immigration from the other parent.

I have sole custody but it does state reasonable access so I am assuming I should get a notarized consent from the non custodial parent.

If you aren't sure and want to bring certified copies with you, you can get them for free -usually- by asking your town hall to do it for you.

Most don't charge a fee to copy it and put their stamp on it.
