This is the second time I write my question...I'm sorry to complain but I need more advice please...My marriage is wonderful and we are more in love than ever, anyways we need to get our life better about lot of things...my husband has two jobs and he's killing himself to give us everything...I should not complain about this, maybe for some girls it sounds like "spoiled girl" but I'm not handicap( no ofense to anyone) Ive 'got a brain, education and I want to use it , I have been more than one year doing "nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!! here I go with my questions AGAIN:

We've got our marriage interview for the adjustment of status and to get my green card in july 15,2006...Dallas, Texas. My fingerprints and pics were taken before..., once the interview was done the person whob made the interview told us :"your case is approved..you'll get your green card whitin 4 to 6 weeks...first I need to change your "case number...because they gave you 2 different numbers... one for the adjustment of status and another one for the employment authorization..." question 1: has this situation happened to someone else?

so he said" , I have to change it that way you will have only one number, this will take 1 more week after this interview and then you will get your green card whithin 4 to 6 weeks..., ok?", we said OK,

but, He didn't give me the stamp on my passport , and just keept my I-94.

question 2: has this happened to someone else? no stamp on the passport? what should I do?

why he keept my I-94?

My passport is more than out of date...my permission to stay legal here expired on december 2005, I know anyways I'm not illegal but I haven't a way to prove it, I've tried to get an id, my driver's license , my husband wants to get a car for me, I want to go back to study ,get a job, etc, etc, we want to have a "normal"life together and enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!I feel lazy, stupid, parasit, etc just to be doing nothing is not for me!!!I didnt' want to mention this but well I've got to deal with it: first months of our marriage we even tried to have a baby but I had a miscarriage just because I was so stressed...!!!!I dont' know if this was the cause but that was what the doctor told us.

Everywhere they ask me for a valid ID, but I dont' have it.

The day of the interview we were agree about everything and I and my husband left the uscis very happy, today it's week number 7 since I last got my interview and I haven't hear or got anything about it yet.

question 3: what should I do about this?call them? send a letter to find out what's happening?make an appointment and go back to Dallas? We live more than 5 hours away from Dallas, it might not be a problem..but the last time when my husband asked for the permission to go to Dallas he almost lose one of his jobs..I can't understand why people from this country don't understand that this travel to Dallas was a government matter and not to go to have fun or shopping...maybe that is what they tought...

question 4:

what should I do? I should not feel desperate? should I just wait a few more weeks to get my green card?

we've been married more than one year, my visa was the K1, I made everything legal to come over here, I dont' know what else to say, will this take forever.?.

please some more advice and answers to my questions.I'll appreciate it.

And my last question 5: isn't suppose that I should get a notice of approval for my case before I get the green card?

Thank you and thank you kezzie for your answer.

Hi, I am sorry to hear that. I think some poeple sometime takes more time than others. Don`t know why..

We had an interview one month ago and still have not receive any letter even if the officer told us GC will be sent within 2 weeks. So, delaying is not a surprise anymore. You concern about I-94 that was taken by the officer. I read a lot of stories and offcier usually take your I-94 since they think GC will be issued very soon. It is very incovenient for us to not carry any ID with us that shows some kind of legal status. Most of the case, people apply for EAD when apply for GC, so they can receive EAD before GC arrives. I think you didn`t apply EAD? At the moment, it might be too late to apply for EAD since you will receive GC before EAD I think. So, only thing you can do is to wait for GC wthout getting stressed out.

The only sure way to find out what is happening to your greencard to to go to your local office and ask.... you could phone the 0800 line but they cant tell you anything other than basic info.....

Is there someone other than your husband who could take you to your local office if you cant go yourself.... your husband does not have to be there with you...

Kezzie
