WOOOOHOOOOO!!! Amazing!!!! Approved today at interview.

Got there about 30 minutes early, was called in at 11:20 and approved at 11:30.

I have to say it was a fairly pleasant experience, except that I was freezing - the building is beautiful and everyone there was very laid back. My husband and I checked in and looked at the waiting room, there were probably about 20 or so couples there (most of them had lawyers - we did not). It was kind of amusing to watch the lawyers prep their clients, most of them looked terrified (I think the lawyers might have been scaring them) and some were even going through their paperwork. I was tempted to look at the paperwork again, but my husband told me to just breathe because we checked and double checked everything the week before. Our buzzer went off and a very pleasant young lady told us to walk with her to door number 1. Before we sat down she swore us in - "do you swear to tell truth etc" We said yes. Then she proceeded to ask for our driver's licenses and passports, which I handed to her. She then asked me a bunch of questions from the I-485 (have you ever voted, have you ever done anything criminal etc.) She then asked me what my address is - I told her. She then asked if I am working - I said no. She asked my birthdate - I told her and then she asked my husband where he worked - he told her. Next she asked if I have anything I want to give her - I had a huge folder with a bunch of evidence and said to her do you want the copies or the originals? She said I just need a copy of your marriage certificate - which I handed to her, along with a copy of the photo album I made with iPhoto. (I also send a copy of the album with the original application) She glanced through it and asked whether we had a big wedding. And the last question was how the two of us met - which we answered. She then said I am approving you today - and I literally just got the text notice that my case has been updated and that my card is in production. (I also got notice of my EAD card today). I send a really complete packet with a lot of evidence when we applied.

5/17/11 - Sent Package

Hi Batya ! Gongratulation on your green card. All you need now is to have a state ID or a driving licence that's all you need to carry with you as identification. You will need the green card only to travel out of and back to the US or if you are asked to prove your lawful status, thus you need to save your green card and passport in a safe place. I have heard that some people leave them in bancs untill they need them. Well! I hope you find this helpful congratulations one more time !!

Looks like things are starting to pick up, we should have more interviews this coming month!

Got my RFE hard copy requesting tax transcript. I anticipated this and ordered the transcripts a few days ago, hopefully I get it early next week and the RFE will be on its way. It also states my I-765 will be processed when I send the RFE back, but it just seems to me like that's what it says on all RFEs (generic message)? Or will they really process it when they get it.

It's been more than two moths since I got my job offer, the company is starting to get really impatient with emails all the time and I really hope they process my I-765 as stated on the RFE when they get it.

We received the third text/email about our EAD so I am hoping we get it in the mail next week. We have never had an update on our AP so I am not sure if there is a chance that the EAD will be a combo card or not. (Is anyone else in this situation?) We have moved our plans from going to the Philippines in August to going next April so it really does not matter I guess. Anyway I hope everybody's approvals keep on moving!!!
