We got our hard copy of the Transfer notice on mail yesterday praying for a smooth and quick process, in other words, please Lord we don't want an interview!!! LOL

Verbatim in part, it says:

The Form 1-693 you submitted is incomplete. The Civil Surgeon's Certification in Part 5 is blank, missing or not signed.

Please refer to your civil surgeon to properly complete Form 1-693. You need to submit a properly completed Form 1-693,

Report of MedicaI Examination and Vaccination Record, (Rev. 06/05/08 or later). The vaccination record must be completed by

a civil surgeon who has been designated by USCIS.

Now, I know part 5 was not missing as I supplied the CS with the I-693 form.

Ok, it really sounds like the CS messed up. They should be able to give you another form completed for free, hopefully! I also got a RFE for my medical but it doesn't specify anything, it just says that they can't complete my process because my application is incomplete. It says, please submit a completed and signed I 693...blah blah blah....and it gives me the latest edition dates of the form. It sounds like they lost my form. I sent it with my application, but it sounds like they never got it...I went to CS and she said to go back today to get a new form...I'll send it and see what happens...

Hello May filers.

I'm also a May filer and mostly a visajourney lurker. This site with all the generous responders has been a true Godsend throughout this process. I think I'm paying for my rather painless K-1 journey which seemed to breeze right along. So far this AOS journey has been, bumpy. We filed our AOS paperwork May 2nd. I stalked the usps website for updates on the delivery. I freaked out when the status was "undeliverable" and came running to VisaJourney to find out if that was "weird" or "normal" or.. normally weird. I calmed down after finding that it happens quite frequently. I waited for over a week and then started calling the post office. They told me that the Chicago office receives so many of these packages for them that sometimes the paperwork doesn't get scanned in properly. The post office found the signature copy and sent me a copy. Yay.

It took 25 days from when we filed to when I finally got the email from them. I have my NO1 but cannot see any status updates (also weird/normal) and I haven't received a biometrics letter yet.

So I'll just continue to stalk the USCIS case status page as I wait somewhat impatiently and try not to bore myself silly during the day.

I'm so glad I have crafty hobbies and a boatload of books to entertain myself with.

Received my biometrics letter today. Went for a biometrics walk-in and it was successful.

Hello my friends

I sent my AOS on 5/5/2011 , and yesterday got my USCIS notice for the interview for 7/20/2011 !! 2 months and a half, still no EAD updated.. i really need it ASAP, is that normal to get the interview notice before the EAD ?

Grrr... me too. got a notice for an interview on July 26, which is more than a month away. I need my EAD first, ASAP. :-(

BTW, where is the National Benefits Center? Does it mean that we have to go there?

My wife's biometrics was scheduled for July 12th in Raleigh NC. Took a chance and drove there today as a walk in. They let us in with no problems. Everyone was super nice. It took about an hour to get the whole process done. Most of that was waiting time. Also received the hard copy that stated our case was transferred to CSC. It actually stated that "it was sent there to speed up the process." Fingers crossed for sure.

No, they write that in every email notification. Letter that you will recieve in the mail will state a specific location (your local office) of your interview.

I've just got my interview appointment letter and it says that my husband has to be there with me. It's set for Tuesday, July 26. My problem is that my husband will be working on weekdays at that time. Is it possible to reschedule earlier, maybe within the next two weeks when he is still under training and still on weekend shift? He just started his new job so it would be bad for him to take PTO time before he is even done training.

Will getting an infopass to have them reschedule me earlier help on this or would it just cause more delays?

Also, is it possible to still get my EAD before my greencard, at this point?

Wow, *finally* got some info on what happened with my NOA. The lawyer received a RFE (I didn't though...?) because my Mom no longer has her physical copy of the I-94 that they issued her. It was a sheet stapled into her passport and she lost it so she only has the stamps in her passport. I knew that she no longer had it but I had been told by several lawyers that it would be ok.

When I spoke to the lawyer he said he's going to avoid having to apply for another copy of it because that will take longer but that he will keep me posted depending on what happens. At least I now that the package reached it's destination, I was afraid that it got lost in the abyss somewhere.

On June 15th my case was transferred to CSC and now i received this:

June 21th "The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

Anybody knows what is that?
