Congrats Mike on your fiance's approval. My fiance also was interviewed today in Damascus, and also got her approval for the K-1 Visa. She told me she met your fiance while waiting, said a very nice person. What a small world!

With my fiance, they took her passport and told her they will send the Visa to her via DHL.

A long journey indeed, and thanks for everyone's help as well, and specifically yours Mike.

All my fiancée brought were some pictures of both of us from different dates, phone bill, passport and two pictures, mail and money transfer receipts...hmmm oh yea and paid the visa fee.

As far as questions, she said the interview only took like 5 minutes, he asked her where do i live, what she knows about where i live, my work and if i have a house..he told her she was approved but gave her the passport back...which made me wonder a bit...

Thx Qais same to you....My fiancée told me that she talked to your fiancée, like you said what a small world....I am a little bit worried why they gave her the passport back even though he told her she was approved...could you please stay in contact when your fiancée receive her visa?

Thanks

Yes, my fiancee said that your fiancee was maybe the only person that left with her passport, they weren't sure why. I think she interviewed first, maybe they forgot to get the passport from her, or they got some kind of order to just keep the subsequent passports of those approved. I will keep you informed of when she gets her Visa, and you also keep me updated. The main thing is they told her she got approved, I don't think anything to worry about.

The same as Mike, the interview was fairly short like 5-10 minutes. They asked her what do I do for a living. Where she will live when she moves to America. If I own my own home. For evidence she brought phone bills, that I had sent her. Also email logg, with sample emails printed between us. Some pictures of us together, when I was in Syria. Overall it was pretty simple and straight forward.

Hey Mike,

My fiancee received a call from DHL on 5-16-11 and she picked up her passport and Visa and some other envelop that she was told not to open and give to the people in U.S. I think they stamped it the following day after the interview, because the Visa is valid for entry up to 11-11-11 (the 6 months mark). Did your fiancee get her Visa? I hope all is well. Take care.
