Sent off the K1 petition at the beginning of March, and I'm really glad most of the NOA2 waiting will be during the summer. We Canadians (well...maybe not you west coasters :P) know how brutal and depressing winter can be, so I'm thankful to be waiting when the weather is nice and I can pass the time with my family & friends. Of course I'll miss my boyfriend, but having a beer on a terrasse sure can help take your mind off things!

Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to VJ!

Keep in mind that the K-1 is about a year long process. Your case will spend 5-6 months at USCIS, 2-3 weeks transfer through NVC and then it's 2-3 months before your appointment with Montreal's consulate.

It's easier said than done but be active and try to keep your mind of it :)

US citizen since April 2016

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

Thanks! I've done a lot of research (thank you VJ for existing) and am prepared for a long wait. I'm not letting myself hope for anything less than 5 months when it comes to USCIS. I'm just glad that a good chunk of that time will be during a more pleasant part of the year.

I am also prepared for a long wait. If it'll come early it'll be great, if not it'll still be great. What makes it hard for this process is not the long wait for the approval, but the pain of missing your loved one so much.
