my passport was stolen before i got married.

we're now married and about to file AOS

i had applied for a SSN before my passport got stolen, they could find me in the system so had told me it would take 4-6 weeks and they would get back to me, after my passport was stolen i went back and was told to come back after i got a new passport

well i have a new passport but it obviously doesnt have a k-1 visa in it or the I-94. I have applied for a replacement I-94 ..... can i got back to the SS Office and try again to get a SSN? I dont know what to do. But i would really like to get my SSN.

Was also wondering about the EAD... if i apply with AOS, does that just grant me the right to work between when its issued and once AOS is approved? If i dont apply for EAD, once my AOS is approved and i get a residence permit am i eligible to work? I dont wont to pay for the EAD just to waste money, becasue i probably wont work for at least another 9months, as my husband and i will be relocating.

Thanks

Beth xx

You don't need to apply for the EAD if you don't plan on working until your AOS is approved ... Remember though, some people wait for over a year to get their AOS approved ... Once your AOS is approved you will receive your greencard which will allow you to work ...

The EAD is only a means for you to work before you get your greencard ...

By my calculations the 11th will be 76 days since you arrived, so you are now going to need an EAD card or I-551 stamp or card to be assigned an SSN.

From and including: Tuesday, June 27, 2006

To, but not including : Monday, September 11, 2006

It is 76 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date
