omg!!! aggravated over AOS & EAD paperwork!!!

what exactly is AP for? can it be used for vacation purposes or does it have to be used for something more official? on the paperwork they are asking for date of travel...i don't have a date in mind, i just want to go on vacation, either back to his home country or somewhere else outside of the US, and try to do it before he gets his permanent resident card...

It was intended to be an emergency thing because you can get an interview and being out of the country means you'd have to change the interview (which is risky) or fly back to make the appointment which can be $$ but you can also use it (most people do) if he needs to leave the country at any stage before getting his greencard.

For the dates just put unknown. That's what I did (and many other people) and had no issues. Some people recommend putting a fake date but that is lying and that's never good.

You file form I-824 to request a duplicate but filing fee is $405!

My Immigration Journey:

You want to look around for it. Or see if you have a copy anywhere (we scanned EVERYTHING when we got it). The other option is to include the NVC letter, some people have been successful doing that.
