The Manila Embassy recieved our approved NOA2 on 5/2 via DHL Express. We have been trying to schedule the interview but the case doesn't seem to be enterd into their system yet. How long have others had to wait before it will allow you to schedule the interview? My fiancee called the scheduling number but was told she could not schedule untill she had received the letter from the embassy. How has this played out for others?

She does not have to wait for the physical letter to be able to schedule for the interview. I emailed the embassy in Manila, I got a reply couple of days after, i think that was only the time when they have updated our case in their system. They emailed me back stating that you I make a payment at BPI and schedule the interview. Please check my timeline below for the number of days it took :)

Okay I was just able to schedule interview. When you get to the Calendar page...you literally have seconds to choose the date. When I was there they had 19th, 23rd, and 24th open for May. Argh, but in just seconds of thinking if 19 would be too early, it timed out on me. So then you have to call in to the call center...and when I was setting up interview date with operator, she told me first available date was June 1. It was literally maybe 6 minutes later. She said after i secured June 1 that I could keep trying to reschedule for earlier date online. After I hung up with her, I tried but could not get anywhere. So, I called back in to talk with another rep and see if i could reschedule for that May 24th spot. But she then told me the earliest date available would be June 2nd. ARGH, so I guess I will have to be happy with June 1. Were you able to schedule yours?

Back to the OP's original question : it took about 2 weeks from the time we estimated the USEM had received the file to their uploading the case into their system.

We scheduled online too. Try it everyday until it works

Dec 05, 2011: Received U.S. permanent resident status (AOS based on K-1 visa)

Dec 16, 2013: Removal of conditions on green card

Apr 28, 2015: Became a U.S. Citizen

I suggest try everyday until you go through the system. Mine took a week before they encoded it in their system :)

It's not necessary to wait for the letter from the embassy as it can be delayed. And you don't need the letter in scheduling your interview.

Goodluck! I hope you get your schedule soon :)

Can you pay for the interview before the Manila embassy receives the petition from the NVC?

That's what I did :)

I paid after I called NVC and got my Manila case number.

in case anyone is wondering about the eligibility letter the embassy is supposed to send out, here it is.

it can easily take three weeks or more from the time the nvc sends a k-1 petition to the embassy until the embassy enters it into their system. you have to wait until they enter your petition into their system before you are allowed to schedule an interview.

don't wait around for the letter from the embassy. some people never get the letter. we didn't. but you don't need the letter anyway. you can still schedule an interview either online or through the call center

if you schedule an interview through the call center and the call center asks you if you received the letter, just tell them you have already received it. then you can schedule an interview through them (as long as your k-1 petition is entered into the embassy's system).

if you want to schedule an interview online, like other posters said, just keep trying every day. you will be able to complete the online scheduling when the embassy has finally entered your k-1 petition into their system.

good luck everyone! :)
