It just doesn't look good that you start off your post with "Since I already got my GC" because to me it meant that was all you wanted.

If you divorce, you will need to prove that you entered the marriage in good faith when you file for ROC

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

I did not know that marriage was something that had to put you in a state of happiness. In fact marriages can be difficult and by what you wrote i can only say it looks as if you marry her just for the green card. I would hope that is not your situation.

If both of you are not able to cope up with the marriage and are not happy together, both of you can sit down together, and talk about what you guys could do either to save your marriage or to dissolve it.

In case of a divorce, since you are still under conditional GC, you would have to prove that you and your wife entered the marriage in good faith and the marriage was not a way for you to get a GC. The chances of you proving that depends on how much evidence you have and how you can convince the Immigration.

Also just as a note, when you made a post on this forum about your situation it appeared as if you did marry your wife for immigration benefits, and you must not commit immigration fraud.

Give the guy a break people :) Obviously his English is not great and he may have not explained himself properly.

Having said that....

....What you wrote did appear suspicious to me too. I hope it is not what it seems. As a previous poster said...you need to sit down with your wife and talk to her about where you go from here. Your future status in the US is surely a secondary concern considering that it appears your marriage is breaking down?

All of you should be ashamed of yourselfs on here. How dare you judge this person? Thinking he used his wife for a visa. Relationships fall apart everyday with or without a green card.

He is looking for help, and you judge him???? Just because he does not express himself very well? Have you forgot alot of people on Visa Journey english is not very good?

I am born US Citizen, and I have a hard time expressing myself sometimes on the computer.

Patience are needed on here and sometimes you have to read between the lines to understand, what someone means.

miloud,

before you give up on your relationship maybe you both can try counciling ? Marriage is tuff, but then you add different culture and teenagers...and it is enough for anyone to break.

It is hard when teenager are involved, even the most well behaved, respectful teenagers, can put a wedge into any relationship. Be strong.
