Hey guys, just a minor freak out here..... I am waiting on MTL to send my packet 3 to me, but so far nothing. The NOA 2 was received March 14th, and said it would take a week, but we all know that is to get to MTL. My freakout concerns the expiry date of the petition, it is set to expire June 26th, and I still have to get the rest of the checklist together. So far I have ordered my BC and criminal check, but dont want to fill out the forms until they send me the packet.... But why would they want another copy of my fiancees tax return? I am confused and my wits are startingto frey... any help would be appreciated.... thx guys

Call DoS. If they tell you the consulate mailed your Packet 3, send them your full completed packet. Everything you need can be found online at http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=index

I never received my Packet 3 by mail either. I suspect Montreal is so backlogged that sometimes packages do get lost in the mail room. Besides you don't need to receive your Packet 3... but you do need to make sure it was logged before they can accept your forms. So go ahead, don't loose that precious time anymore :)

You will need Affidavit of Support (I-134) and it's supporting material for your interview only. Do not send any originals with your Packet 3, save them for the actual appointment at the consulate.

From now on you will only be able to reach DoS for updates on your case. Montreal does not answer calls or emails about case updates or info. Phone number is : 1-202-663-1225 Press 1 for main menu as soon as he starts talking. Then as soon as he starts talking press 0 (for an operator) Have your MTL case number ready.

If they tell you Packet 3 as been sent to you, mail them all your corresponding forms. Once it's mailed, give them a week before you start calling DoS every other day again to ask if they mailed your Packet 4 and if you are eligible to schedule an appointment. When they say you are, go ahead and book it!

Another question is with my daughter. She is not moving with me, and it will be her decision when she gets older to follow. Will i need a long form birth certificate for her as well? Or what will I need? I am still unsure as to why they would want that unless she was joining me, or if applying for her own....
