The i693 cannot be completed over mail or fax, you need to have seen the CS. So yes you can use a CS in Virginia but you need to go there yourself. You may ask the VJ member Vanessa and Tony for specifics, but there was once a CS who did all the 693s by fax and when he was caught he was penalized and every applicant who used him was given an RFE. If that CS agrees to fill up your form without meeting you DO NOT trust him. Besides you both need to sign something on the form before he seals the envelope anyway.

PS. Just ask Vanessa and Tony on the AOS forum :) goodluck!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Many civil surgeons here in the U.S. are not familiar with the needs of a K-1er. Chinook had to call several civil surgeons before she found one who would perform the simple transcription that we needed.

Some civil surgeons required a full physical exam and/or several vaccinations before they would sign off on the transcription. A K-1er does not need any of that stuff.

Chinook finally found a local civil surgeon who knew what to do. We went to the civil surgeon's office and it took about 15 minutes and $35 to have Chinook's record transcribed and sealed in the envelope.

The civil surgeon did not require Chinook to have another Tdap vaccination.
