Psoriasis Patient

Hello everyone,

So, I'll have my medical next week at St. Luke's Medical Center Extension Clinic in Manila. I only have one dilemma... my psoriasis. I was first diagnosed when I was 14 years old and the doctor said that it is genetic. So, it runs in our blood. I have a cousin and an aunt who have them too. They're on and off thing.. Sometimes I have them for months, then not have them for years, then be back again and so on and so forth. While I have my medical transcripts from my dermatologist, I am still worried. First, they are active now - as all over the body. I am so afraid to fail the medical exam.. I know they're not contagious but is there anyone here who have Psoriasis too and passed their medical? I'm going nuts about this...

It is not contageous and wasn't an issue when I went for my medical

You have nothing to worry about. That is not a communicable or infectious disease like TB, which is the type of ailment that would hold up a visa or cause you to fail the physical.

Thank you, guys! I am just so embarrassed to remove all my clothes.. I am trying my best to put creams on them so my skin will be clear by next week but I doubt if that will happen.. they're just all over the body..

Hey can u please tell me how and if psoriasis influenced the medical exam? I also have psoriasis and im going for the medicals next week and that...worries me a lot

Disclose it, disclose any medication you are on, they will likely look at it and then move on

It is not a reason to excluse you or make you inadmissable

Hello, everyone! Thank you for your support! I am finally home from my medical and I passed it! I secured a medical transcript and a medical certificate from my dermatologist. I presented it to the doctor who did my physical exam. She noted it, read the transcript and the certificate, and asked when did it start. I answered everything. I was nervous while waiting for the result. My name was called and I passed. They asked me to sign the part where the doctor noted about my Psoriasis. It's not contagious and they said not to worry. God is great!
