Hey Ash---why would you expect any activity after just three months?? One of the best ways to be disappointed and stressed out is to set your expectations too high !!

If you look at the CSC statistics, they for the most part are processing December filings right now. Plan on 5 months or a little more, and then be pleasantly surprised when you finish in four and change--positive surprises are always better than negative ones !!

Best wishes in everything.

You're right - this is the rule for 5> months :( , but I've seen on VJ some people's timelines and their petitions had been approved within 2-3 months (Chicago filers).

In fact, if you mail packet to Chicago lockbox, does it mean that petition would be processed here, in Chicago, or transferred somewhere else (personally, I'm Chicago's resident)?

Chicago is just a clearing house--they will send it to either California or Vermont most of the time after they do a cursory review--final processing is not done in Chicago. Lived in Chicago myself for about 6 years awhile back--really, really liked it there!!

Before you get too excited about significantly shorter processing times, they are often an expedited case--look at the cases that took way longer than 6 months--there are a lot more of them than the ones that get done super quick. It is extremely rare for a "normal" case to get done a lot less than 5 months, although California right now seems to be a week or two under the 5 month target. Take a look at the Immigration Timelines button at the top of this page--there is a wealth of information.

Have to agree my wife and I are January filers I-130/CR-1, had only one touch in feb, filed in chicago and currently on month four of our minimum expected five month but anticipate 6 where we ecpect to transfer to California CS, Where your file goes will depend on the start of your case number ours starts (WAC) = means western adjudicating center

Also priority dates make no diffrences for spousal visas as they are available to allocate as in our case

Aha--lookin' for a touch !! We had a touch about six weeks after we filed, and then nothing !!! Looking at the CSC backlog, we have our fingers crossed that we might get approved before the month is out (or maybe an RFE :crying: ), but I'll betcha we never see another touch.
