K1 - Request for Evidence status

my fiance filed for a K1 petition last December 6, 2010...we waited, and for exactly 5months of waiting, last May 6, 2011 USCIS mailed a request for initial evidence. Can anyone tell me did you went through this stage too? Please share your experience.

Yes that is normal as they found lacking to your documents.,, Look at my timeline.. we filed Sept.15 and got NOA1 sept.. 22 and we got RFE April 6.. imagine how frustrating is that for 6 1/2 months you receive that RFE.. anyway we send them what they asking for and now patiently waiting for the approval hope it will come soon.. dont worry.. and hang in there.. it will be approved as soon as you reply back to them..Good luck to us..

Hi. I had an RFE too for the same thng. My SO is not from the Philippines however they should list on the RFE what they need from you. Mine they had just listed a copy of one of our passports with the stamps in there to show that one of us had been in the other's country. I sent that in no problems. But also a copy of either of you or your SO boarding pass when you went to me other one is also a good example of primary /initial evidence. May I ask what you did send in for evidence?

Can you be more specific in the information they are asking from you so we can assist you better?

Hi. I had an RFE too for the same thng. My SO is not from the Philippines however they should list on the RFE what they need from you. Thank you for your post, gives me idea not to worry too much. I didn't know yet what they are asking to submit, it was mailed last May 6 (Vermont Service Center) and my fiance lives in Texas, so probably he will receive the RFE mail by monday.

Oh thank you for this post, i guess i just worried too much, i'm anxious to know what evidence they are asking from my fiance, by the way, we didn't know yet what they are asking since it was mailed last May6, so probably on monday (may9) he will receive it, or anytime this week. On your case, i hope and pray that everything will turn out well. Good luck to us indeed!

We got rfe too on april 11 and the following day my fiance received the hardcopy that states the rfe. They require us to send a LETTER OF INTENT(BOTH OF US),PROOF OF MEETING FOR 2YRS,AND THE DIVORCE PAPERS WAS INCOMPLETE.Then on April 21 we reply to our rfe and finally on april 29 we are APPROVED!

me too,we received rfe! and i dont understnad why csc is way faster than vsc to adjudicate the rfe,in vsc they said it will take 60days to get a result while in csc its just days or less than a week,i feel like im waiting forever,nakakbwiset na!

May i know what documents they requested for evidence in your case? Oh, im sad to know about VSC...guess we'll just have to wait..

We got rfe too on april 11 and the following day my fiance received the hardcopy that states the rfe. They require us to send a LETTER OF INTENT(BOTH OF US),PROOF OF MEETING FOR 2YRS,AND THE DIVORCE PAPERS WAS INCOMPLETE.Then on April 21 we reply to our rfe and finally on april 29 we are APPROVED!

Can I ask what was incomplete in your divorce papers ? I am about to file a petition including those and would like to make sure it is complete...

I would not worry too much, I received my RFE at 6 months as well that is frustrating after waiting so long already. I did not sign the part that ask if i ever committed a crime, I responded the next day, it took almost 8 weeks to receive my NOA2, but that might not be your case, some people receive theirs sooner... Hang in there!!!!

they want it the whole divorce papers....marital settlement,esp the judgment.

NO!from the time that were approved we've just known when my fiance received the hardcopy already.they didnt even send us text or email and our case status in USCIS website is still request evidence response review.
