My dad just called me at work to inform me that I received a letter from immigration. I was bummed coz I checked this morning and no updates, no "touches" either. So I assumed that it was a letter to tell me that I was missing something. I told him to open and it and give me the bad news. He said something like "the above petition has been approved". I was shocked and surprised. I told him to wait, so I jumped online and checked the status, still no updates. I asked if he was sure and to read me the receipt number, they matched! I told him to read further and it says things like "it will be forwarded to blah blah". So I'm very excited. Gonna go home and confirm but all I gotta say is wow! I never was religious before this but man I prayed every night before sleeping and every morning before work. It sure does wonders. Now to search this forum for the next steps.

AOS fee bill

Because your AOS fee bill is generated at the same time as the DS-3032, you can also create your own AOS fee bill and send it in with the required fee. Download the MS Word copy of the AOS fee bill (available by clicking HERE). Under "Bill date," type in the date the AOS fee bill was generated. Underneath the date, change "XXX2005123456" to your case number. (If you are applying for an IR1 instead of a CR1 make sure to change "CR1" to "IR1" whereever you see it.) Next to "Petioner's Name," type in your last name, first name, and middle name.

IR = if married for two years or more = immigrant status on entry with no conditions = 10 year green card.

CR = if married for less than two years = immigrant status with conditions = 2 year green card. One must apply to remove conditions 90 days before the two year anniversary of entry to the US.

One can also be granted the CR-1 at interview, yet on entry to the US if married two years or more, will be granted immigrant status with the 10 year greencard. Often this must be brought to the officers attention so the correct status is granted.

the USCIS status still says that it was touched June 16th and nothing about the approval. is this normal? and is the nvc case number usually assigned in the morning of ever tuesday or towards the end of the day? sorry, just getting impatient. just checked out other people's timelines and found out i still have a long way to go

got my NVC case number. weird, i thought it would be on a tuesday but according to them it was entered today, thursday. yay! one less thing to wait for
