Hi fellow VJs! Has anyone here experienced having another interview after the American consul interview. This is what is happening to me. I was asked to fill up two forms at window 70 of the US Embassy Manila and to wait for another interview but I was told that the interviewer was not available and that they will call me and set another date for that interview. I dont know what went wrong with my interview with the American consul to be asked to be interviewed again. Can someone share their experience on this. Many thanks.

Yes, I have seen it happen on here. Often, the petitioner is asked to attend the interview too, or you are asked to bring extra evidence. Did this happen in your case? Do you have any red flags or were unable to answer any questions at the interview?

I think the problem is we put the English name of my fiance's Korean ex-wife on his I-134 form and the name on the divorce decree is her Korean name. The consul asked who is ____ ____? I said she is his Korean ex-wife. I dont know what to do on this second interview.

What two forms were you asked to fill out? Were you given any piece of paper before you left and if so, what did it say?

If you were not told anything, the best thing to do is to gather as much extra evidence as you can (ideally some document that mentions both names of the ex, as well as bonafide proof), and wait.

Is it a red flag if I am unemployed and that my fiance doesn't support me financially?

The first form i was asked to fill out was like a biodata sheet for me and I was asked to make sketch on how to get to my house. The second one asks for data about my fiance and there were questions about how and when we met, did he gave me an engagement ring, did we go on dates before the engagements, how long before we got engaged, has my family met him, this is as far as i can remember. Can the second interview cause denial of visa?

They'll be comparing your timeline to what you and he wrote in the cover letter and what was said in the interview. The first documnet could mean that they will visit your area to speak to your family, neighbours etc to check on you and your relationship with your fiance.

Being unemployed/ your fiance not sending money is not a red flag, unless the way you support yourself is shady (for example if you were a bar girl and the reason you are unemployed now is that your fiance wanted you to stop).

There is always a chance for denial- the fact that they want a second interview means there is something they find odd or suspicious about your case. But denial isn't a certainty; they have given you a second chance to convince them.
