Well duh! Just like any Federal agency that is established. They become larger and larger until they become unwieldy. The government will never give up anything where they can control the citizenry.

So, are you saying that Richard Nixon was God?

And all this time I thought it was Morgan Freeman!

Now think about that in the context of racist birthnutters. Would they demand to see a black God's long form certificate too? /race card

I heard him loud and clear.

But perhaps you would like to give recent examples of Gov ending a department of anything?

There is a very large difference between having a bulky and inefficient agency (which I believe is often the case when you have this two tier system of federation/state, so beloved of the US people) and an agency being used to 'control the citizenry'. The first is wasteful and unwieldy but has no malevolent intent, the second highly organized and efficient and with a highly malevolent intent. So, yes it is quite just to laugh at someone who calls an inefficient, wasteful agency a vehicle used to control the citizenry, it's barking.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I guess the context went a bit over your head, then.

There is a good reason I didn't use George Burns ;)

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

Of course these things are open to interpretation but I am of the opinion, when the EPA requires the kid down the street to be trained and licensed to repaint your garage..... it has become "controlling".

*Check out the new requirements for the next justification of the EPA's existence...LEAD PAINT.

Your definition of controlling citizenry isn't mine. You seem to revel in your position as downtrodden citizen, yet look down on citizens of other countries who have seemingly more freedoms than you do. I find all this hysterically funny. Carry on

-Who is it you think I look down on?

The only ones I snicker at are the ones who surrendered what freedom they had for promises of security. (That is what you should find hysterical)

-I hardly consider myself "downtrodden", this is still one of the most free countries in the world.... though it is on the wain with endless gov't control such as I mentioned with the EPA.

How are you both the most free country in the world and simultaneously weighed under by endless government control? That's a contradiction in terms, not to say logic.

Could you clarify this very woolly statement that you snicker at those who surrender freedom for promises of security? What freedoms specifically are surrendered for what specific promises of security and by whom?

You look down at every other country's citizens because you consider the US the most free country without a shred of evidence that this is true. In what terms are you free? Some specifics and comparisons with all those other non free citizens in the rest of the Western world would be most useful.

Of course different expressions of freedom are important to different people.

One of the things I like or value are ease at which people can do business in most parts of this country.

It;'s very difficult and expensive to start businesses in many countries, if it is not the government hindering you it's the organized crime.

In many parts of the world you simply cannot do business without paying bribes.

I am aware this is fairly common in some cites but the only place where I have experienced it was in Phil.
