Hello to all my wonderful friends and fellow Egypt filers.

So today I called the NVC and got the same ole same ole  ... so seeings how my exams are finished and I passed them all (YAY!!!) I booked my ticket for my Cairo flight. :dancing: Really this journey and being away for so long has really put a strain on Ahmed and myself and it is best to go there. Wendy my dear I have a suticase with your name on it sista! LOL My flight is scheduled for May 16th but I may move it to May 13th depending on how things go. But as of right now I will be boarding a plane and leaving in 10 days.:dancing:

Pray for me folks, really I am a snow bunny from the north pole so I am wondering how I will adjust to the heat of a Cairo summer and remained covered... I am used to 7 months of winter and 2 months of summer with a mixture of everything thrown in for the other 3 months of the year. I told Ahmed I will stay in and become a creature of the night while I am there... people will say hey where is your wife and he can reply I left her home on ice! Anyhoo this is the best decision for Ahmed and I, some people can remain strong while seperated for so long, and I am proud of the way we have handled this seperation, we have had our ups and downs more ups than downs I should add, we applied in June of 2010, but enough is enough arleady!:bonk: I will check in on all my friends and see how the journey is progressing for all of us. Wendy do not forget to get ahold of me once you reach Cairo, dinner with our hubbys is a must! May God bless us all and may the light at the end of the tunnel shine brightly for us all!!! :luv:

Congratulations on your decision and I hope you have a safe and speedy trip to Cairo!

Betsy, thank you so much, it was the best decision for us. Some cannot have the freedom to decide and my heart goes out to them all this journey is hard and the going is slow which I am so sure I don't have to tell you... but as for me my dear, I am going going gone!!!

Sam, I have been so busy with final exams, it was CRAZY. Thank you for the congratulations, I am so happy to have those exams behind me. It would seem they just get harder and harder as time goes on.

It is very exciting to know that after May 16th Ahmed and I won't have to say see you later/soon any more! It is crazy to think of it, but a good crazy my friend. I am so sure we will be happy we usually always are, even thru this hectic process. Thanks for your well wishes Sam.

I didn't attend the Q & A but I did get a chance to read some of the info and I found it helpful somewhat.

How is your journey going? Still stuck in the AP? I am so sure it will be over soon and you will be with your wife forever! I am willing however to take your wife along with me, I do have some nice comfy luggage LOL... :jest:

Keep in touch Sam and I of course will do the same, best wishes to you my friend, you have been such wonderful support thru all this!

Save some room for me in there, too! I'm actually going over the end of May...

Hey that's awesome you will be there so soon too. Will you stay and wait out the visa process in Cairo? Let's exchange emails for while we are there, you know sometimes it is wonderful to have another lady to talk to. My Ahmed works many hours and sometimes I get a little stir crazy... Have a safe flight! Best wishes. (F)

Congrats Amber on passing your exams! Good for you, I'm glad to hear you will be heading back to Egypt. It will be such a well deserved and much needed reunion. I wish you and Ahmed all the best and a lifetime of happiness. :luv:

I just paid our IV fee today and got the AOS fee receipt..both packages r ready to ship off, so hopefully I too will be heading over in the next several weeks. As soon as case finishes NVC I'm gonna head over to wait out interview and AP...not coming back without my hubby either!!!

Thank you so much, I sure did ROCK those exams! Really the most difficult thing about all this waiting is not knowing when it will end. I am sure many of us can relate to this. I pray your case goes swiftly and you see that wonderful SIF & CC real soon. Ahmed and I flew thru the NVC only to be stalled waiting for an interview. But hey its ok! Because for the rest of this journey Ahmed and I will wait together! :reading: Have a safe flight over, and also may I extend the invitation to you to exchange email addys. I am not sure if your hubby works a lot of hours or not like Ahmed but sometimes I go a little stir crazy while Ahmed is at work and I think it would be nice to have others to talk to. Sure I have his mom and sisters, but I am limited in my communications with them as I do not speak fluent Arabic, I do know how to say "adini bocha" lol first words Ahmed taught me  and they don't speak fluent English. However we do communicate best we can thru hand gestures and a lot of play acting, sort of like a good game of charades, it works well for the most part! Best wishes to you and your husband!

LOL :lol::lol:...I had a good laugh when I read this part of your post Amber....I can relate , however I gotta say you are one up on me bc I don't know what "adini bocha" means ....I speak a little bit and understand much more...and I'm very good at "shwya shwya" when asked if I speak arabic ..LOL, that always gets a smile :luv:

Thanks for your words of encouragement, now that both fees have been paid I'm just waiting for Ahmed to fedex me his police cert and military papers so I can send in the actual IV app..hopefully it will be early this week, keepin my fingers crossed and praying. Hoping we would finish NVC by the end of the month or beginning of June and maybe, maybe, maybe interview by August....it would be such a blessing going into Ramadan, knowing we are finished and just waiting on AP. I would say, maybe we would run into each other at the embassy, but I really truly hope you guys get news of your interview any day now...I can only imagine how hard and frustrating it must have been up until now just waiting for that and not having anything you could be doing about it since you are done with everything else (F) probably a blessing that you had school to keep your mind at least a little occupied...I'm sure for you and everyone else waiting the delay was entirely due to the effects of the revolution and now that they are back up to "normal operations" hopefully they would clear everyone swiftly.

I will be in Alexandria but I will pm you for email, I would love to stay in touch and at least try to stay in contact while in Egypt especially since there is no telling how long we will all be there. I am in the same boat as you when it comes to being able to converse with most of my husband's family. He works a late shift all week, so it would be nice to have someone to chitchat with.

Adini bocha = Give me a kiss... hope I spelled it right! LOL Thank you for your nice words about getting an interview. It has been a long time coming for sure. Alexandria, I hear it is so beautiful there, Ahmed and I are actually planning our first mini vacay and going there. We figure might as well get out and enjoy Egypt while we are there waiting. I am so excited! I just cannot wait to see him and be able to say no more away, then of course the ole YAAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOO!!! Less than 9 days... Yes for sure let's keep in touch atleast when we need some good ole fashion girl talk we will have each other, which really is a comfort to me!

Amber, I'm glad you are able to go spend the rest of your time with him while you wait. I know how hard it is, this process is so long, and it's so difficult to be away from each other. I wish the best of luck to you and please keep in touch with us while you're there. I hope you get an interview scheduled "soon", but in the meantime enjoy your time with your husband. Have a safe trip and take care;) Lots of love to ya! ;)
