Hi all,

My fiance has been collecting his pay stubs for the eventual date of my interview (hopefully this summer).

He wants to visit me for a month between June - July.

If he comes though, he wont get paid for that month, since he is a student and his job pays by the hour.

Do you think the embassy would have a problem with this? He has been very consistent with his other paychecks.

He still has enough in savings to make up for more than the federal poverty limit so skipping his job for a month wouldnt affect his finances, it just might not be something the embassy would be happy to see.

Does anyone have any suggestions or opinions about this??

What does his tax return from 2010 show? If he earnt above the 125% poverty line last year then his pay stubs will not be so important.

Are his savings really substantial enough? Remember he needs $5 in savings for each $1 he lacks in income.

If his savings are enough, then indeed his income won't matter.

Yeah his savings are enough, he got a lot of money from his grandparents for grad school.

You think the embassy will be okay with that?

I don't think the embassy will have a problem with one month of missing pay checks.
