I can offer assistANCE in this matter.

Your wife can ask one of her friends, co-workers or relatives to be a co-sponsor. Wife still fills out the I-864 - has to as the primary sponsor and the co-sponsor also fills out I-864. Don't forget to include tax transcripts (last 3 years, 2010 as the latest) for both sponsor and co-sponsor.

Signing an affidavit of support is not something you ask a perfect stranger online to do. First no one in their right mind is sending all their financial information to someone they don't know and putting yourself on the line for someone on their second immigrant spouse is even riskier. If your spouse can't afford to keep you in the US I think you should head home, quickly before you trigger a ban for overstaying your visa. Your posts sounds like you came here looking for a wife to get around immigration laws. Shame on you , things like this make immigration harder on those of us that do it right.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Moving this thread to the AOS from a Work, Student and Tourist visa as OP is not asking about a Tourist Visa.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am not sure if you are asking for someone who is a member on this site to help you by becoming a co-sponsor with your wife and signing the I-864 Affidavit of Support for you - or you are asking for advice about who else is eligible to complete one along with your wife.
If it is the first - well, that actually violates the Terms of Service for this website as you are not allowed to solicit someone to help you financially.
If it is the second - then anyone who is able to meet the minimum income requirements for a household of their size plus you is eligible to be a co-sponsor. It doesn't have to be a family member but family members are more likely to consider taking on this obligation. Your wife can ask her friends or other family members if they are willing to co-sponsor you. If not, she may want to consider getting a second job to raise her income, or, if she has assets (money in the bank, property, investments, etc.) that can be readily converted to cash, then she can also use those at the rate of 3 to 1 ($3 of assets to $1 of needed support) to make up the shortfall between her income and her needed income.
It is important to remember that the Affidavit of Support is a potentially significant financial obligation. It lasts for a minimum of about 3 years if the sponsored individual becomes a US citizen as quickly as they can - and can potentially last the rest of either the co-sponsor's or the sponsored individual's life, depending on circumstances. 10 years is considered an average obligation as that would be the amount of time it would take the immigrant to earn the necessary 40 quarters of employment needed to nullify the contract if the immigrant did not become a citizen. Generally, this type of responsibility is only going to be accepted by someone who believes in your relationship and trusts the two of you enough to put their own financial resources on the line.
Don't try to shame me. Go home and wait until your wife can afford you. Don't expect others to support you wish to sneak around the normal wait for a visa.
Anyway,God know the best.I'm happy that you got approve.You need to advice someone to get approve too ,not to be discouraging someone else.meanwhile,we are from same country and you talking like this.God be with you.
Hello To all,
I am the wife of my husband that has posted here for imformation. I first of all am saddened by the reply of NigeriaorBust. You dont know our story in full and making assumptions is narrow minded. My husband DID NOT come here looking to marry. Just because our story is not exactly like yours, please dont judge others. He has a good friend here in the states that is a U.S citizen that is going to co-sponser him along with me. Thanks to the others posters that gave friendly advice, VJ is a great forum to help one another and show no judgement, I believe in allowing God to do that.
Happy Mothers Day to all!!
To that person that posted negative comments, its not nice for you to judge someone and from what I read they are asking for advice here on vj not looking for a sponsor here, jusy because ur approved already doesnt mean u can act like that here and judge people who are on the first step of this process we all know its an emotional roller coaster to sit around and wait for a decission.
To the person that posted, yes u can get anyonr to co sponsor your husband as long as their a us citizen, and best of luck to u, dont be discourage to ask for help just because one person is discouraging u, there are so many nice people in this forum that will be glad to give advice
I think there may have been some misinterpretation along the way by some posters - when I read your husband's first post, I too thought he was asking if someone on the board could sponsor him, but upon rereading I realize he was asking who (of people he knew) would be eligible. I believe it was just poor wording. Either way, it seems like you have your answer on who can be a sponsor, so good luck to both of you!!
