Hi All,

My husband mailed our I-130 today to start the process for me to immigrate to the US.

Thanks so much for all the help and resources on this website. I don't think we would have

gotten this done properly if it wasn't for this website!

I'm sooo nervous now.

What should I get ready in the meantime while we wait for the NOA2?

Not much you can do now but wait. You can start reading about the the process when you get to the NVC and embassy. That will better prepare you for what you need and what you need to do. Good luck!

Memorize this and start getting what you need for it. You have plenty of time, but it'll give you something to do in the meantime. I waited until about a month before approval to start and I still wasn't ready, so I would start even earlier. Good luck. :)

As others have posted start reading up on what is required at NVC. It is too early to get a police certificate but you can make sure you have a certified copy of your long-form birth certificate and divorce certificates (if applicable.) You cannot book your medical until you have an interview date but you can make sure all vaccinations are up to date and that you have record of them. This link will give you info on the medical. Panel Physicians The US spouse can order tax transcripts for the I-864 as well. Have a look over the forms you will need to fill in at the NVC stage, no harm in making sure you have all your information ready.

Good luck on your journey!
