hi there... I hope to find some advice and help:

I've got my marriage interview for the adjustment of status and to get my green card july 15,2006...Dallas, Texas. My fingerprints and pics were taken before..., once the interview was done he told us :"your case is approved..you'll get your green card whitin 4 to 6 weeks...first I need to change your case number...because they gave you 2 different numbers... one for the adjustment of status and another one for the employment authorization..."so he said" , I have to change it ,you should have only one number, this will take 1 more week after this interview and then you will get your green card whithin 4 to 6 weeks..., ok?", I said OK, He didn't give me stamp on my passport , wich( my passport) is more than out of date...my permission to stay legal here expired on december 2005, I know anyways I'm not illegal but I haven't a way to prove it, I've tried to get an id, my driver's license , my husband wants to get a car for me and I want to go back to study here in Texas, but everywhere they ask for a valid ID, but I haven't my green card yet...well...the day of the interview we agree about everything with my husband and we left the uscis very happy, today it's 7 week since I last got my interview and I haven't hear or got anything about it, what should I do?call them? send a letter to find out what's happening?or maybe I'll get my green card soon? how long does it take to get the green card?we've been married more than one year, my visa was the K1,I made everything legal to come over here, I dont' know what else to say, this takes forever...am I wrong?please some advice and answers to my questions, thank ya'll.

bye.

ps:isn;t supposed that I should get a notice of approval for my case before I get the green card?or I'm going to get the green card as I was told?
