Claim for Citizenship has no age limit.

Claiming citizenship in a bar would not be an issue, not that that is the problem.

You are unable to adjust in country so you have at a minimum the ban to consider, a Parent is a qualifying relative for the filing of a waiver.

Why can your family not travel?

You have a long wait for a visa number to be available, depends on your Country.

There are relief's for false claim to Citizenship, COR for a immigrant visa, d3 for a non immigrant visa.

It used to be no biggie getting a SSN, I guess this was before it became a sort of National ID.

It is a Social Security Number, not proof of anything.
