Hi all,

I'm about to meet my future fiancee in the Philippines in a week. We've decided that in the future we will go through the K-1 process. Now besides taking lots of pictures (to establish proof for the K-1), what can anyone else advise we do (while we're together) to prepare for the K-1 process that we'll start later?

Save your boarding passes to submit as evidence of meeting. Also save any receipts (hotel. restaurant, etc.) as well. You can draft a copy of the letter of intent that you will submit with the I-129F petition. Have her sign 2 or 3 copies (just in case).

Read the K1 Guide here on VJ to familiarize yourself with all that is needed.

Have a fun trip.

I just got back from my meeting trip. We took pictures in front of a dated event sign/banner and at a national monument in Manila. I saved all my reciepts and boarding passes. I had my fiance's 325 form filled out and ready to sign, also I had her letter of intent (i used the one on this site). We did passport pictures together and I took one of her and one of me. She will need some for her medical and interview (I think) and I wanted them to be the same.

Just my experience,

Jim

Yes, it would save you some time to get all the info needed on the G-325A, fill it out and take with you to get her signature and whatever else. You can also get her passport photo done while you are over there so you can take it back with you. If you plan to stay in a hotel you could get both your names put on the itinerary so you have it as evidence that you were together. Good luck!
