It isn't controversial because of who's in the white house. If someone else was in there, it would be highly controversial because bin Laden was unarmed.

Let me be perfectly clear - many of you here on VJ are hypocrites. Parties and leanings aside you're all too often saying, "It's OK for the government to do this (even though it's clearly illegal) because we need them to."

In short, we don't need the governmnent to do much at all. Especially when it's illegal!...

This discussion has been about a very specific topic, namely is the reaction of the US public hypocritical in being the various shades of relieved to happy over the death of Bin Laden. Your assertion is that the libruls that have not greeted the death of Bin Laden with shocked dismay are hypocrites because the action was illegal? Is that your current proposition? By extension, are you also saying that the reaction of Conservatives is not hypocritical because they condone illegal actions undertaken by the government?

Or as you saying that Bin Laden should have been left where he was because he was conducting his operations in his pajamas from the safety of a private house in Pakistan?
