Guys, I don't know if this was already asked before

My oath ceremony was yesterday, and I need to travel in less than 10 days. I made an appointment at the Boston passport agency.

The website states that "You must present proof of international travel within 2 weeks of the appointment or proof of emergency abroad"

(and that it should be a hard copy not an email on your device)

What is considered the proof? I'm going to Canada by car, and the only proof is the hotel reservations. Is this enough? Or do I have to change my plans and book airplane tickets?

Thank you!

Is it a personal trip? Now official invitations or anything? Then hotel reservations should be enough, I think.

Found out this one

"

Two (2) Copies of Evidence of Immediate Travel: Copy of round trip ticket/itinerary indicating travel to a foreign country. If you do not have one, or are driving to Mexico/Canada, or need passport for any other personal matter, please write a letter addressed to US DEPT OF STATE, explaining the reason for expediting your passport issuance. The letter should indicate travel estimate date of travel and should be sign by the applicant."

I can't seem to find the answer on their website, so I'm gonna ask here.

I only applied for passport cards this time and I'm planning to apply for passport books in February of 2012. As proof of citizenship I'm going to mail the passport cards. And the question is, since these cards will still be valid at the time of application, will they be returned to me?

The only information I found is about replacing a passport book/card, not adding another type of document to it.

Speaking of passport cards, my translations got to the agency this past Thursday. Hopefully it won't take long now, assuming the translations are correct this time.

Ha, I think I found something after all, fine print on the application says that any undamaged proof will be returned.

That's an interesting question... however, my assumption is that they will return it to you since you are providing it as proof of citizenship...

That's what I'm assuming, too. I won't be sending them to be replaced, but as proof. On the other hand assuming is usually a bad idea when dealing with government agencies. Last time I assumed something, I got an RFE

I'm still waiting for my kids' passports as well. No updates. I got mine without any updates, so I don't rely on their website much. I guess I should count on about two weeks after they received the translations, so another 7-10 days maybe.
