Got my CON back today. Now I'm wondering if I have to mail it again or mail my passport card with the RFE response (my kids' birth cert. translation). The RFE does not mention either way.

Send a copy of your passport card sounds good!!! But you should contact them to ask!

My question is what are the status messages shown on the website after each step?

Also did it happen to you that website showed "your application is being processed" all this time and then all of a sudden it just can't find your application. I freaked out and called customer service and when representative verified info she said last name and address didn't match(I have a copy of my application and everything is correct in there)((( but everything else: first, middle names and ssn does match.

Now looking to schedule appointment with them next week if over weekend online status updates won't change ... to clarify things

In my case I applied for book and card on Sept.27th, check cashed on Oct.3rd and received mail on Oct.4th with the passport application locator number. The status never change on the website even though I have already received both (Book on Oct.15th & card on Oct.18th).

The translations are on their way to me. Hopefully I'll get them Monday and mail them off to the Dep of State Tuesday.

Well it's been 7 days and I did call the customer service and they said it is currently processing. Better than the website who shows that my application is non-existent

My main concern was that when representative verified information via locator number - 2 things freaked me out: last name and address didn't match, so now rep was kind enough to put request for change and asked to call her back on Tuesday.

PS: Don't want to get passport with wrong last name and definitely don't want to be sent to the wrong address ((((

Okay, I have the certified translations in hand. I called the passport agency and they told me I do not have to submit my CON or my passport with the translations. They want either certified copies or the originals of the BC. There's no such thing as a certified copy of a Russian BC, it's either the original (the only existing copy) or a photocopy. I'm going to submit the originals and hope I'll get them back I was just wondering whether the passport agency will recognize that these are original documents, not certified copies. Maybe I can highlight or circle that part in the RFE (I'm mailing a copy of it back).
