need to send in an affidavit

Hi Everyone,

The reason we got a RFE was that we didn't send enough evidence of us meeting in the past 2 years. I had a feeling we'd get one since we only sent 2 pictures of ourselves together.

This time we have gathered all the necessary docs. We were also asked to send an affidavit from our friends, neighbours or relatives. A few of my friends and relatives are getting them notarized.

My question is do I have to send in the original or can I send a copy of the affidavit?

Original signatures are required.

Pictures are secondary evidence when it comes to meeting in person. Affidavits are not as big on the list either because anyone can write something about people and sign it saying its true.

You need to have things like passport stamps, tickets, receipts etc.

So would you say original signatures from the affidavit will be required as well? I am only asking because to get the original docs from friends and relatives it'll take sometime. It'll be easier to receive a scanned copy from them.

I don't have any stamps on my passport since I live in Canada. Do I still need to send in a photocopy of my passport?

We have collected other important docs such as more pictures with dates and additional info on the back, receipts of hotels, restaurants, airline/bus tickets, car rental receipts, atm withdrawals made by my fiance in Toronto.

Hopefully, everything we submit will be sufficient.

We are getting the affidavits notarized by a lawyer.

No passport stamps or hotels for us, but we sent pictures of us together and copies of our bank statements showing use where the other person lives and cell phone records showing roaming in the other places... We didn't get an RFE, so it seems that was enough. Good luck!

If you got an RFE, send in as much additional information as you can! And YES, send in the original copies of the affidavits.
