Just called the NVC automated response and it said "the NVC is awaiting biographic forms from the petitioner....."

Does this mean they have generated and sent out the DS230? If so......I was under the impression that Part I (the biographic section) of the form is for the beneficiary....not the petitioner....

I've already sent in my I-864 and IV bill a couple weeks ago....so I'm guessing the only form left is the DS230......

Hi,

Yea this is kind of confusing.

I read a post here that for the original petition, the USC is the petitioner, and your wife is the beneficiary.

But once you start the actual visa stuff at NVC, your wife becomes the petitioner/beneficiary since she is actually the one applying for the visa, not you.

vze4b39s,

You are correct, the DS-230 is for the visa applicant, the beneficiary of the petition.

See my thread on English Language Proficiency in the Off Topic forum. I suspect that you have found another bit of evidence.

Yes, that message means NVC generated the DS 230 packet. Most of the time, NVC requires DS 230 part I only, but for few countries, they want part I and II. Your timeline is blank, so I do not know where is the beneficiary from. Why don't you call NVC and find out what documents (ds 230 part I, II, copy of passport biographic information pages, etc) they want you to send.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Because of the lag time in sending documents between two countries, could she sign her name (in black ink) then email me a scanned copy so I can print it out and send it off immediately? Or will the NVC reject this?

No, it won't be acceptable. If she signs, then scans and email them to you, it will look like a photocopy. All signatures have to be original. You can fill out the form online, scan it, and email it to her. She can print it out and then she will just sign and date the form and immediately express mail to you.

what I have done with my sweety for certain docs is.....

Have her go to a internet cafe, download the specific doc we need her sig on, and then have the cafe print out the page that needs her sig.

Then she just takes a blank sheet of paper and puts it on top of the doc. and she signs the blank sheet of paper in the correct spot as if she was signing the doc.

Then she sends me the blank sheet with her sig. I fill out the doc on my pc.... and then print out the doc.... On the blank sheet with her sig.

Now I have the doc in my hand with her original sig on it. Worked for the G325A (Biographic doc) and I'm receiving another blank from her with her sig on it for the DS230. Works great.
