got DS-230 back during interview?

Hello all hope everyone is doing well, My hubby got his approval yesterday in Montreal *yay* =) But something does strike me as odd, and makes me nervous. The first person who asked us questions and took our forms had my hubby sign the DS-230 stamped it MONTREAL MAY 3RD and he gave it back to us even has a stamp on the front that has DATE REVIEVED: CMR #90 . Under the part consular officer.....it has been left blank. We did have a interview 10mins later with a very nice blonde lady though.

Anyone else ever get their DS-230 back? He did ask us questions and went through it with us. Just gave it back, I suppose they do have the electronice DS-260......but I dunno still bugs me.

DS230 along with all documents you've submitted to USCIS and NVC get enclosed in an envelope, and this envelope is given to you with your passport and visa. They also let you know that you shouldn't open that envelope since it should only be open by a CBP officer at a POE. Hence, I urge you to call the embassy and explain your situation to find out what the heck just happened. It could be that the consular made a mistake.

Hi Minted7 !

I had my IR-1 interview in Montreal in Feburary... I just had to sign the DS-230 and gave it back to the Officer.

I am not too sure about a phone # for Montreal, but others here have emailed them at

montreal-iv-dv@state.gov

and have addressed the email to the IV Unit Supervisor.

It might be worth a shot to email them... and I hope it works out for you !

Thanks ! we emailed them because there is no phone number we tried calling one but it's all automated. We titled the subject please confirm .........lol so dumb wish it would had been iv supervisor oh well I'll let you guys know what happens.

Have an update! We emailed Montreal yesterday and the lady who conducted our interview called this morning and said she made a mistake and she's sorry, and she needs us to scan and email the 4 pages DS230 to her.She assured my hubby that he is approved and nothing is wrong with his paperwork. So we did that and just 1hr ago she emailed back, said thank you for doing this your visa has been printed out and its going in the mail tommorow!! yay !

Montreal is really wonky, the staff are rushed off their feet, and is some new hires mixed with retired VOs (we did it this way 10 years ago) and both types seem to add more muck to the process on interview day.
