Hi there! I just spoke to the consulate in Ciudad Juarez, and they (supposedly) sent us packet three back on April 3rd. As of today, neither one of us have received anything. The man told me to go ahead and download the forms off the page, pay the visa fee, and make the appointment. I know every country is different, but I just want to make sure that my fiance does not need to send anything in ahead of time. He only needs to carry those completed forms (plus other stuff) with him to the appointment.

I'm a teacher, so the kicker of all of this was that I was in Mexico during Semana Santa. I could have taken care of this then! Ni modos.

Thanks for any clarification or commiserating.

Hey fist shaker,

I think we might be in the same boat as you... I haven't spoken to CDJ yet as they appear to want to charge me an arm and a leg for the phone call but I think we are rapidly approaching a month without the packet being delivered to my fiancee. That said, can you be a little more specific about what the guy at the embassy told you? Is it not even necessary that the packet arrives? Is it possible to just download a few forms and make the appointment without receiving the golden "appointment letter"? Please let me know, as you can probably relate to the level of desperation and impatience we are feeling.

Thanks!

I dont know if you realized it but this is kind of an old thread. :P

anyway, answering your question.... Did u know exactly when CDJ mail the packet 3 to you and your fiance? That is important to know if you are anxiously waiting.

What mex-pat meant is that, if you have not received packet 3 in the mail, you can go ahead and download the instructions, pay the fee, fill out the forms you need and get ready for the interview. However you MUST have that golden appointment letter to be able to attend the interview, medical, etc.

You may get your stuff ready now and as soon as you get the letter schedule the interview or schedule the interview far enough so you give it time to arrive to either of you.
