Anyone know how long the EP final review is taking currently? From sending the email to case complete was a month which surprised me with how slow it was. I think we've given up hope on a may interview since our final review started May 2nd.

Are you doing electronic processing? If so, you will receive an email when they have all of the documents and start the final review. If not, then you will have to call the NVC to see what is going on. In either case you will have to wait 20 business days from either the day you sent the emails or the day that the packages were deliverd via mail or express service.

Despite the various generic time frames given by NVC; Scheduling of case interviews is generally done the second week of each month for the following month (it WON'T be less than 30 days notice).

Additionally, the number of interviews scheduled is based purely on the number of interview appointment slots the specific country consulate has available. Meaning: NVC can only grant the number of interviews the US Consulate/Embassy allows and/or has available. Generally, it moves along fairly steady, BUT you should be aware of how it works so that your not completely baffled if your interview is scheduled even later than what you expected.

It's particularly hard at the end of such a long and grueling process... it feels so close now. In fact it is... but the waiting game continues to the end.

Stay positive, stay strong... and as always... follow-up regularly with a phone call to NVC. Speak with a live person.

Thanks, but the question wasn't about the interview date. I'm just taking it one step at a time and trying to get an idea when the final review will be completed. We got our case complete email on the 2nd so we're trying to find what the normal time frame is from now until the final review email for electronic processing.

You will get an email from NVC shortly with a set-up interview which probably is about one month from the date of the email. May interview probably still is possible but it would most likely be in early June.

Final Review gets no special treatment when it's an EP case.

SCHEDULING gets special treatment, however.

so, suggest to call in nightly, inquire about 'final review status'.

No other comments, alas, Final Review could take 1 day or 20 days, depending on current queue, and I think yer asking about 'current queue'.

Our case was admitted into Final Review and I do not recall of filing for EP. If you speak to the operator ans ask the status they usually tell you what stage the case is at. I usually do a twice a week follow-up with the NVC live person.My 10-15 days period was done on Friday 6th may, so I checked back again and they said some "Supervisor" is reviewing the case. I am getting really anxious as the cut-off dates for interview scheduling are May15th for Mumbai, for June interviews.

Most of the time the person answering the phone doesn't understand what EP (electronic processing) is so they just say they don't show anything. Even when they do, they aren't able to log in to the electronic casefile so they only see the normal casefile. On the plus side, we got our interview letter today so seems like the 20 business days includes the time to review the case maybe.

alas, this is both a 'known' and a 'given' here at VJ - you have to train each tele-operator at NVC, each time.

"Per latest telephonic inquiry our case was accepted by NVC on 04-18-2011. After the 15 day period for "final review", on 05-06-2011, the case was not decisioned and is currently pending further investigation. The "further investigation activity" will require 15 more days for processing upon which, the case MAY be approved and forwarded to the above mentioned consulate. Since this 15 day period is beyond the cut-off date of 05-15-2011 for the consulate to schedule interview, it is more than likely to be scheduled in month of July. Is there any expedite process, post the decision, to forward the case to Mumbai Consulate, so the interview can be scheduled within June time slot"
