Gov. Christie: I won't run for president

MANALAPAN — Josephine Lisciandro of Covered Bridge waited through most of Gov. Chris Christie’s town hall meeting here to ask one question: If he became president, what would he do to reduce gas prices?

“Ya’ know, Josephine, with all due respect, I got enough damn problems in New Jersey,” Christie said to raucous laughter and applause from about 400 attendees at the Covered Bridge Community Center Tuesday.

He said he didn’t know what he’d do about gas prices, but clarified that he is not running for president.

Christie, much like many other viable GOP candidates will sit out 2012. I wouldn't be surprised to see him scope out the field for a 2016 run.

Dubya might not be the sharpest tool in the box but he isn't outright stupid. True, he doesn't come across very polished and often seemed to have little grasp of basic concepts but I think that was more of his brand as the guy next door than an actual lack of intelligence.

What is the obsession liberals have with calling Republican politicians stupid? There are lots of politicians that we don't like, but being incapable of disagreeing with their positions without demeaning their intelligence sounds stupid in and of itself. To pronounce people who have accomplished more than you have as stupid just because you disagree with them is silly. Disagree all you like, but putting some substance behind your position is better than just making fun of your opposition. Plus, it's just predictable and monotonous. You can do better. Please try.
