My wife is from Peru and we are gathering the documents we need to send in for the DS-260. We have everything except the police records. I look online at the NVC website and find that it is asking for three different documents. I understand that this is probably a generic list for the entire world. I then look at the Lima specific items asked for, it states we need two. I then call the NVC and they say we need the three different documents. As we begin gathering the documents I read on this website about another person that went through this process and they were talking about having the documents legalized. So I called the NVC again to ask which documents I needed legalized and they said, "You don't need three documents, I only see one document you need."

If anyone possibly has any insight into this particular situation, please let us know. We are getting very close to the interview and just want to avoid any speedbumps now. In order to be safe my wife and I decided to just get all three, have all three legalized, and send them all in. My only question is, Are they always this confused within their own ranks?

Thanks in advance,

Jeremiah and Liby
