Consulate choice and US address

Hi,

We are planning to go the K-1 route and have been living in Canada for the past 2 years.

However my fiancee is a Swedish citizen.

Given how slow Montreal seems to move, can we specify the consulate in Stockholm on my fiancee's I-129F on question 20?

For question 14 asking where in the US my fiancee intends to live, I put my parents US address. Will USCIS send further mail to them, or to our Canadian home address I specified in Part A? Does it affect things after we arrive in the US in any way, since I don't actually plan to live there?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I was working in china when my hubby petitioned me, but we listed manila as our consulate. Just specify it on the firm. And he was in forT Benning GA when he applied but wrote down his parents address too. Weird thing that happened was we got the noa1 in GA and noa2 in PA. As far as I know, the petitioner needs a US address, they won't send stuff to canada.

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

I was inquiring with NVC and USCIS about the consulate issue. If you pick Q20 in your petition it might work, however I was told that it all depends on the person that gets your case at the NVC. Some of them pick the consulate basing on the Q20 answer and some choose by the place of residence...

And yep, you need a U.S address.

They really won't send stuff to Canada? I had the impression they would from this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/294806-can-noas-be-sent-to-canadian-address/

Especially given that there is a box to fill in "Country" in the I-129F, and the instructions say "If you live in the United States or abroad and are filing Form I-129F, then file your petition at:"

Well, then i guess they do accept a foreign mailing address after all! Sorry about that!
