Initial Adjustment of Status Interview, next week!

Hi, my wife and I have been asked to appear for an Initial Interview next week. There is a checklist of things that must be brought to the interview and I was wondering about the Affidavit(s) of Support. We submitted one from my wife and one from a co-sponsor in the original Adjustment of Status application. On the interview notice it says that if Affidavit(s) were already submitted that they are not needed for the interview. Does this also mean that we don't have to take originals of the Affidavit(s) supporting documentation? I am hoping not as we don't want to have to hassle our friend (co-sponsor) any more than we have to.

Can someone who has experience with the interview please state if the Affidavit(s) of Support original supporting documentation was ever asked for? Hopefully the supporting documentation is like the form and that the paperwork submitted with the Adjustment of Status application is enough. We don't want to have to ask him for his birth certificate, tax returns, W-2's, and pay stubs again.

Thank you in advance. Take care.

As I understand it, since it has already been submitted, they already have it all. But you should bring everything you have! Some people have been asked for their I129 file!

In my case, the IO asked some explanations about the affidavit, but she didn't ask for more supporting document.

just follow the checklist that they sent to you, and you should have all the evidence that they need.

be aware, however...they did ask for our original tax returns for the most recent year, bank statements, and letters from my employers. if you have a co-sponsor, i would advise that you might want to bring along this stuff for him as well...better safe than sorry, right?

they also asked for proof of our living together...i showed a letter from my employer stating my tax filing status, and showing him on health insurance and life insurance policies, as well as car insurance papers, and a few other things addressed to both of us at our address.

good luck to you! i'm sure it'll go just fine!

From my experience with them you SHOULD bring with you everything they ask for. I had a lot of stuff with us at the interview and they never asked for anything. But you never know!
