I am trying to file for AOS from my K1 visa, but i would like to know that my fiance who petitioned me to USA is a full time medical student and only works part time in her holidays over summer and gets rest of the money she needs from her parents.

In last financial year she earned only $ 3200 , ( working over summer only) but i have substantial assets both cash, stocks and bonds up to $500,000 in value, do you think i can apply for AOS and meet the income requirements though my assets, ( which i can transfer to USA immediately ) or do i need to find a co-sponsor.

is there a minimum requiremnts that the petioner has to earn before you can add your assets ?

thanks for your attention in advance.

P.S. i can get help from my in-laws but would like to help myself than ask them.

Regards

Sean

There is no minimum- you could sponsor on assets only if you needed to.

They like the assets to be US based though, as it is easier to go after them if needed. Can you transfer at least some of your assets to a US source, such as buying property, transfering savings to a US account etc?

I'd transfer the money over. The Aussie dollar to US is about $1.10 at the moment (with Aussie being worth more) so a good time to send funds :D
