Hi!

I created form DS-156 online a month ago. It had the bar code and I printed it out. The K-1 interview is not going to be until May 19 and the instruction is to bring this form to the interview. I just discovered that I made a mistake on DS-156 form. Since the original one already have a bar code, will it do anything to my case if I create a new DS-156 online?

Basically, what happen if I create a new DS-156. Does the old one created online stored in Department of State? Is it ok to create a new one?

Thanks

Honestly, I raised a question before, also with almost the same concern. I practiced that form many times (more than 5times). I don't know if it will create any problem. Now I am planning again to fill that form again 2weeks before my interview. What I am thinking is that if you will create a new one, it will supersede the previous one. I am not sure about this but I hope it does.

Maybe someone out there could enlighten us.

it's OK if you need to complete a new DS-156. no information is transmitted to DOS. the bar code generated contains the information you entered on the form. this allows the Embassy to just scan the bar code to enter your information into their system.
