Word of caution!!!!! Don't ever rely on the Philippine Postal Service. I sent a priority box to my fiance 6 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I posted the items that I had sent to her on the customs declaration form at my local Post Office. The window clerk stated that after the box is released to Philippines Customs, that they had no control over the package. I do not expect my fiance to receive it. She lives in San Ildefonso, so I mailed to one of her family members in Caloocan, thinking it would arrive within two weeks rather than 4 weeks in her town. I have discovered that corruption is the norm within the Philippine Postal System. I had many items that would serve an inquiring mind well; hard drive, OS Windows 7 software, nice scientific calculator, rechargeable batteries and a 6 month supply of Multi-Vitamins and Vitamin C. I should have written Books on the declaration Form. Please don't make the mistake I did. Send it FED EX or DHL. Pay that extra money for your peace of mind. I work for the US Postal Service and I should have known better. I will definitely send my interview documents via FEDEX.

Maybe she or anyone on her household should try to get a hold of the mailman assigned on their place so they can already tell him that they are waiting for an important mail. Or maybe you can try to change the mailing address.. like if they have a relative whose mails are received timely and orderly, they can do that too. What they should also do is maybe look for the house who has the same address as them, (I'm not kidding but that is common here). Me, for example, our address and our neighbor's house number is the same, therefore, also our address. But the good thing is that we are aware of these so if there are mails mixed up, we just give it to the other.Another thing is our mailman and the guard from our community is also aware of this.

4 USPS Stories - PoBoxFull.jpg

I send a small flat rate Priorty Mail to the Mindinao philippines. My gf at the time went to the post office and let the "postmaster" or whatever they call it there, to watch out for it. The package arrived pefect in about 3 weeks.

My friend's box also made it, but it was missing some money and chocolates, the digital camera and lingerie made it though.

And last, my fiance mailed me a standard letter, 130peso, 1 month ago. I checked today, its still not here.

4 USCIS needs a bigger PO Box

We had to fedex 2x in the last weeks, 1500 peso each. Unbeleiveable how fast 2 or 3 days.

I didnt absolutely positively have to have it overnight, but at least I got it. Peace

That's rad dude, I've been wanting to send multi-vitamins & vitamin c too! haha

You are totally spot on about the PH postal svc, according to my fiance, they are pathetic. Lucky for me there is an LBC branch 2 blocks from where I live in LA... LBC partners with DHL, BTW...

Also, FYI to the OP, I noticed quite a few DHL trucks rolling around the Phils...

My bad, I didn't read you post very well, and if I give the wrong info I hope someone here can correct me. Hey Im new here so...

When I 1st heard the address I was getting I could not believe it.

It was like Ibabao Cordova Cebu PH

And I was like, What??? Wheres the numbers and street.

So the courier service will need some clue, usually and prominent friend or family name (Hopefully hers) and then maybe and In Care OF Jane Doe

Jane Doe 09604023425

in care of Gloria Emelda Garcia 096234523452

Ibabao Cordova Cebu PH 6015

Ohh and ofcourse, a Phone number helps the courier.

I too am looking to answer this exact same question. My g/f lives in Oroquieta City, Mindanao. She tells me she can receive mail through the Oroquieta City LBC Branch. But how does that work. What address would we use on the forms.

Any feedback in greatly appreciated.

Manila embassy does not mail an actual packet out. You complete all the forms online. Once you have the MNL # go to BPI and pay the visa fee then you can start the process.

My wife didn't have what the US considers a mailing address either. There is no street or house number. She lists her name and the voter precinct. The immigration people know the Philippines mail can't be trusted so they use a courier, and these couriers are actually intelligent enough to ask around the neighborhood for where the house is.

This was the first question I asked on Visajourney and nobody answered me. Yet this is a very common problem and the stress it creates is enormous.

We did experiments with the Philippines mail, sending letters and postcards from my address and my brother's. One post-card out of four items made it. (Two letters and two post-cards). I also e-mailed the post office with a question and they didn't answer. One out of five.

The package will not be mailed - it will be emailed to the email address they have on file.

We went through the CR-1 process & my wife have been here in NYC for 11 months but she have yet to receive any mail/package (with the exception of the visa) from the embassy while in the Philippines - everything was done via email.
