Hi everyone...

I submitted my I-485 application on March 31, 2011 under the Diversity Visa program and it was signed for by R MERCAEDO on Sunday (odd) April 3, 2011. I also rechecked the Visa Bulletin and my number falls below the processing number so I am good to submit my application.

I was here on OPT after finishing an MBA and have since fallen out of status since submitting the application. My status expired on the 17th of April. I spoke to a lawyer and he advised staying where I am until I hear something from USCIS. USCIS also told em the same on the phone.

I have called them several times more and they keep telling me to wait until 30 days. This is only 2 days away and I am totally frustrated! I am pretty sure they have lost my application and all the medical records etc with it.

I am frustrated that I have received NOTHING so far and am convinced they have lost my application. No NOA, no indication they have cashed the check...NOTHING...

Anybody got any advice or stories that might help? From all the other posts I see most people get at least a NOA in a couple of weeks...

Hi!! my houseban is on AOS from K-1 visa and it took us 3 weeks to get our first e-mail notification, Other filers from march got their NOA1 30 even 45 days later. Many have called USCIS and the info is that for March and April they have gotten so many applications that there is some big backlog. I was also desperate when our NOA did not arrive in the usual " one week of waiting".

Now in our case we got another situation and is the biometric letter, 2 months already waiting for it.

Hope you get your NOA soon, probably before this week ends
