I pulled the link.

A few reasons;

1. It was written by a liberal. I'm not a liberal, I'm not a conservative or a moderate. I'm a, I don't give a $hit! Just tell me the truth. I thought maybe, the fact that the article was written by a liberal, might garner me the wrong label by some VJ's.

2. I think that particular drug is being administered in excessive amounts, in order to make detainees more vulnerable to interrogation. Yep. I like to consider conspiracy theories.

3. There is a valid argument that the dosage is perhaps, tipping some detainees over the edge and into suicide. I decided to back out of a potential flame war and pulled the link.

Just saw it on O'Reilly.

I don't see how that could possible be. If water boarding was not carried out in Guantanamo (which allegedly it was not) the information given by the prisoner was given during enhanced interrogation techniques that were carried out before the prisoner was transferred to Guantanamo. The last prisoner who was transferred to Guantanamo was transferred in 2006. Any information procured from a prisoner is going to be obsolete in a matter of weeks or months unless you believe that the Taliban/Al Quaida fail to react to the imprisonment of one of their number and do not change their security. It's just simply not credible that information from 5 years ago led to any part of this operation. The information has to have come from the field, and I would imagine it was money that changed hands, not water.

“CIA Director Panetta indicated that one of the individuals who provided important information had in fact been waterboarded… There was some confusion today on some programs, even one on FOX I think, suggesting that I indicated that no one who was waterboarded at Guantanamo provided any information on this. It’s not true. No one was waterboarded at Guantanamo by the US military. In fact no one was waterboarded at Guantanamo period. Three people were waterboarded by the CIA away from Guantanamo and then later were brought to Guantanamo. And, in fact, as you pointed out the information from these individuals was critically important.”

Does not make sense. That some people want to justify enhanced interrogation teqniques at a time like this is not surprising but believing it's true takes some really crazy imagination. The information that led to this action has to have been extremely recent and had to come from boots on the ground local intelligence not from torturing idealists 10 years ago.
